Thing 23
The example I found of Thing 23 that was based on somebody else's work was really at the bottom of the page of thing 23 that stated property of creative commons and had that little CC stamp on it. Another thing that didn'y make me do any looking around was remembering 23 things is based on 43 things a larger more broad thing entirely. However Mrs. Wall got special permission to base it off 43 things and I greatful she did because if not I couldn't experience this wonderful thing called 23 things! As for creative commons this lesson was very useful Ill be sure to respect the rules in the future and be honest and give credit where credit is due THANK YOU 23 THINGS IT'S BEEN FUN!
Thing 22
Livebinders would be a useful tool not only for storing your own personal information but also classroom management. You could have a binder for every personal student for every individual student. Learning about the livebinders was very effective and easy and I could see myself using in the classroom one day.

Thing 21
Try our slideshow maker at Animoto.
I created a slide show of by dog because it was the easiest and had the funniest and most pictures using Animato was fun and easy. It could also be used in the classroom for a quick slide show presentation or the students to use their own in any classroom and any subject area horray!

Thing 20
There's not one thing I don't like about You tube. You tube can help pass the time for me in class, library or whatever. You have access to any video you can think of I mainly listen to music with You tube but, it can serve as an educational site in the classroom. I have had several professors and teachers use You tube to show material on the topic we were discussing. At the same you have to know when to draw the line from it becoming a distraction. Another big part of Youtube like Google it very easy to use just type in the search bar. Ill admit I'm using You tube while I type this post it becomes that common for me to use.

Thing 19
I am now a member of Teacher Pop and Ning both are pretty neat websites to go through and explore. They are both useful because they allow you to communicate from one professional to another on any topic. The best way to explain it would be a more handsome and proper Facebook or Twitter more down to business less playing. Both where appealing to me because it gives me something to look forward to as I grow older and become more professional. I will probably use these down the road but, computers aren't really my cup of tea and neither is social net working period.
Thing 18
Well ive had a Facebook for forever and I don't know to many people who haven't had or have one. Twitter on the hand I don't have really because I just don't see the point. You here celebrities and professional athletes get into trouble all the time with Twitter for saying improper things about other people or themselves, and the media eat it up. Facebook is great because it allows you to keep up with everybody like old buddies, teachers, and events. Facebook like twitter can cause drama issues but, for the most part it's pretty safe and fun. I really can't see Facebook or Twitter being used in the classroom just because of the distraction it could cause. Finally though I would say im a fan of both.

Thing 17
Delicious is a nice social book marking tool that can be used in the classroom. The only problem is that its not as simple and quick as Google. Maybe I'm batiste towards Google but, I don't care Google is allot easier than Delicious. I'm not saying I don't think Delicious can work because I think it can in the classroom. The only problem is students won't take the time like I have to explore and use it. Again Delicious is useful it just takes more thinking, time, and research to you. As for Dig and Stumble upon there allot like Delicious but, to me a little more confusing. I would never see myself using this in the classroom because I don't think I would be able to get Delicious across to the students especially in younger grade levels.
I typed in educational technologies and got mixed results however my experience with Delicious, Dig, and Stumble Upon were good but confusing. I just don't think many people will take the time to look into these. There is a bright future in social book marking for educators I truly believe that!

Thing 16
I created my online calender with Google because I love Google. Everything with Google is easier the start up page and the to do list. I also really enjoyed the top ten productive websites it was a very useful and productive piece of information and guess what Google played a bigger part in it than anything else. The start up page I choose to use was I Google and like I said before I tend to use the easiest website and hands down that was I Google. Calenders are useful because it keeps a constant reminder and keeps a forgetful person like me thinking clearly and aware. Calenders are about as useful as it gets, to do list are great to have as well as but, really they serve the same purpose as calenders.
If I was to recommend one tool to anybody out of the list it would be the top ten productive websites it enjoyed it because, anything that helps me stay on task and get things done is ok in my book.

Using a Wiki is a fun and quick way to access, gather and display information on virtually any topic out there. For my apsu sandbox 23 things I uploaded a Avatar because I like it and its the easiest thing for me to do. I enjoy using the Wikis because there's nothing out there that a wiki can't find. Partly because anybody has access to share and change the information at any given time. Wiki are useful for gathering information for students but, it is also viewed as a none scholarly source my teachers and professors. The thing I found most interesting about the wiki website was the simplicity of using it I had a blast with wiki!

Thing 14
The first chart I decided to use was the Flow charts its a really simple drag and click concept. Their is a neat step by step example on how to construct a flow chart at
http://blog.flowchart.com/index.php/2011/08/11/quick-charting-with-drag-and-draw/
I believe the flow charts really are good for topic work such as an English classroom. Another skill it could teach is Main Idea and brainstorming.
The second chart I decided to use was Gliffy. Gliffy is not a type of chart but, it does list all the different chart options and gives a step by step example of how to construct them. Gliffy is the most useful tool for charts that I explored. Gliffy compared to the flow charts is simpler and gives you many more options to choose from as far as charts go. My final decision is a no brainier go with Gliffy!

After exploring Zoho writer I was impressed on how detailed it was. Unlike Microsoft word you can upload photos and create your very own detailed document. Microsoft word and Zoho writer are very similar and both can be very effective learning tools. The one difference I notice between the two is Zoho is a little to flashy and high tech for the older grades and ages. Zoho could be used to create a document for the younger ages to grab and maintain their attention. Microsoft word on the other hand is more basic and ive been using it for a while now. So generally my pick is Microsoft word, I was impressed with Zoho writer it was neat to explore something so wonderful.
Google docs on the other hand is a very useful tool to help students with a variety of things like documents, spreadsheets, and other images. I could see my self using Google docs in the classroom. Another key thing about Google docs is it can be used for group work for the students. Sometimes students learn easier in groups rather than individual lecture.
My final comparison between Zoho and Google docs is day and night in comparsion. Google docs I could see myself using in the classroom for group work. Zoho however I think is two complicated and I used to using Microsoft Word.

Thing 12
Google is the simplest and most efficient web browser ever made. Google in general makes my life allot simpler and that's something I can never put a price on. After looking through all the various tools Google has to offer the two I found to like the most were iGoogle and Google translator. iGoogle I could use in the classroom to keep a set schedule on what needs to be done a daily basis for each student. Google translator is something I could use if I was teaching a more advance subject and level in school. Google translator would be very handy to like a Spanish or French teacher. The best part about both of them is that, both could just as easily be used by the teacher or the student. Like I said before you can never put a price on the simplicity of Google it's something that is always there that anybody can have easy access to.

Thing 11
Out of all RSS search tools to find feeds the easiest is by far Google. It doesn't get any easier than Google type in what you want and bam it takes you to it with a limitless amount of feeds and websites. The thing that makes Google so widely used and loved is it's simplicity. The other search tools were just to complex for me im a A or B kind of guy not a A,B or C type of person when it comes to technology. So as far as search tools for feeds Google beats them all! All the other feeds I found unusal and confusing so I stuck to just to my usual Google.
Thing 10
Using RSS is very helpful and fun their is literally so much information you can feed to for you and your classroom. I just created my own Google account and subscribed to a number of differnt feeds about education. RSS is such a huge advantage because the information it provides is so detailed it makes it easier for the teacher to teach and for the student to learn. You could use RSS to in the classroom to pull articles up and let your students read in the classroom and at home as well. RSS could also be fun to use in your personal life to just keep up with daily topics that interest and the information is so easy to access. Have fun with RSS and Google!
Thing 9
The process used to upload these pics was just like anything else just copy and paste the link to the blog. Playing around with these online generator imgaes was fun and creative. I could see myself using this stuff for creating lesson plans and being very effective for the younger grade levels.

Thing 7
When I first logged onto Flickr ill admit I was a little confused on how to operate it. Flickr looks like one of those home and garden websites. After exploring and looking around I really started to like Flickr. Interesting last 7 days was my favorite part of the website. Some of the pictures made no sense to me and others did, one thing is for sure though about Flickr. Flickr always has interesting photos on just about any topic you can think of. The one picture that I just so happen to come across was a Beagle hound picture. I love Beagles and I couldn't think of a more perfect picture to blog about with Flickr. Using Flickr was neat and fun but, I just don't see how Flickr and education go hand in hand. The link for the Beagle picture is below this paragraph.

Things 6
I did some major searching on the website, Web 2.0 awards top 100. Many of the websites I liked, others not so much. For me to like a website or not always depends on the complexity of the site. If it's simple to use I generally like it but, if it's something I have to fool around with then I am not a fan of that website. It's funny after all the searching and looking, it ended up being plain and simple YouTube. What I like about YouTube the most is the simplicity, all you do is type in what your looking for in the search bar at the top. Any type of video or entertainment is at your disposal and usually at quick speeds. The useful features about YouTube is the amount and type of videos you have access to. The one down side to YouTube is it's not generally for a school or a classroom environment. YouTube could be used for allot for educational purposes but, at the same time allot of inappropriate information is also there. In general I would not use YouTube in school or the classroom because of the distraction it can cause.
Thing 5
Of all the articles I read, I discovered one topic or idea in particular: That is that technology is going nowhere but up from here on out. I mean go ahead knock yourself out if you want to read, every little article or detail about School 2.0 or Web 2.0. It's basically telling you the same thing no matter which 2.0's you read. School 2.0 means better learning with quicker and easier ways to learn. School 2.0 can do nothing but benefit our future students. I believe it means that education is on the rise just like our current and future technologies.

Thing 4
Commenting on blogs is important because its the other person a sense of confidence and importance. Think if you don't comment at least every once in awhile the other person might stop blogging and that's lost information that other bloggers and yourself may never get back.
Two other points i learned from are common sense yet people still fail to do them and often create a problem. The first is to not be afraid to comment, it is important because your opinion matters maybe not to yourself but, to other people it can be useful. Second is to realize the power of words allot of times people post or blog inappropriate words or opinions. All that does is make yourself look bad and discourage other bloggers from blogging.
Claire Albert
I chose to comment on Claire's post because she is very smart and makes good points and she's not like alot of other people and puts half effort in her work. If you want to learn something and how to do it right go to Claire.
Kenna Gupton
I also commented on Kenna's blog for the same reason as Claire's she makes good points and inserts alot of common sense into her work. her work is also very straight forward and gets to the point which, is something I like.
Alex Duchscher
I commented on Alex's post because he did a great job describing the uses of blogs . His blog is also very creative and easy to learn from.
Casey Ball
This blog was short and to the point she also included her opinion into every topic which is good.
Chris Earheart
I really liked what Chris had to say about technology being a teamwork thing. He is right about this class being used for learning and helping each other.
Mallory Stewart
Mallory's blog was very neat and organized and at the same time to the point, it also included her opinion about the blogs in a constructive way.
Johanna Connors
Johanna included her life into her blog which, is good because it gives you an example of how life was without blogs which is very depressing.
All of the blogs I chose to comment on for various reasons. First they were very helpful and to the point. Second most of the people I commented on I know from being here for two years. Lastly their blogs were well thought and organized and that's the type of blog I want to get my information from.

Thing 3
There are many ways I could use blogs in my future as an educator. First, I could use them to communicate with different types of people from all over the world to gain knowledge and ideas for use in the classroom. Second, is to learn all about the different technologies to make learning easier and more fun for my future students. Lastly, I would like to teach the students on how to use blogs to their advantage on learning and finding new information. Any extra help given to students is always good for the students and the educator! All of these would help advance and help the students in their learning experience.
Thing 2
I have decided to name my blog 23 Happy Things. People may wonder why I named it that, the first reason being that, every time I log into blogger and work on these 23 things they, in some way, it makes me happy. Second, creating the blog was easy and quick! I don't have any experience with blogs but, with a little help I picked up on it pretty quickly. Creating the avatar however, I have not quite figgured out how to change it. The person in that picture is dull and pale, those features do not describe me in any way, shape, of form. So the avatar is still a work in progress.
Thing 1
Of the seven and half habits, I have something in common with all of them. Many of the habits I am pretty good at and do often, others however, I struggle to do and it has cost me at some point in time during school. The one habit that I excel in is habit 2, accept responsibility for my own learning. The one area I struggle with is using technology to my advantage. I view education 3040 as a great chance to improve my technology skills and using them to advance myself in my educational career.
